TESTIMONIALS
How has PCT helped you professionally?
“In my first semester on campus, I struggled to understand what I wanted from my professional career. But when I found PCT, I knew I had found an irreplaceable community of people who would become not only my closest friends but my greatest mentors. Whether it was helping me prepare for an interview, getting me in touch with useful connections, or even teaching me about careers in finance, the upperclassmen and PCT alumni have always been enthusiastic to help. The impact that PCT has had on my professional career is immeasurable, and I proudly attribute my accomplishments in college thus far to all of the lessons and connections that this organization offers.”

“PCT has been instrumental in my professional journey by providing the guidance I needed. When I first arrived on campus, I felt unprepared to make decisions about my major or career path. Joining PCT and participating in the pledgeship process offered me the knowledge and support I was seeking. The wealth of resources, dedicated mentors, and a community of talented individuals committed to my success enabled me to make informed choices about my future. I am proud to be a part of such an incredible organization, and I do not believe that I would be in the same place, professionally, without it.”

How has PCT helped you in adjusting to college life?
“Coming from out of state, I didn't know many people and didn't know where to start looking for new friends. I decided to rush a business fraternity at the last minute and it was the best thing I could have done. PCT gave me the structure and support I needed to adjust to college life and for that, I'm so grateful.”

What is your favorite thing abut PCT?
How can PCT help you grow as a leader?
“I joined PCT as a quiet first-semester freshman, afraid to put myself forward. My PCT mentors helped me feel comfortable as they encouraged me to come out of my shell and be involved in the community. Now, as a Junior, I have had the chance to explore and learn from the many leadership positions in PCT that I have held. PCT has given me the confidence to voice my thoughts as well as the tools to improve myself as a leader, and I hope to lead my younger peers on their own journeys to find self-confidence and become leaders.”

“In only 2 semesters with PCT, I have been able to go from an active member to an Officer, to 1 of 8 executive board members. I was able to do this because PCT provides countless leadership opportunities and an environment free from judgment or unfair expectations. Whether you want to plan fun social events like formal or boat days, talk one-on-one with our corporate sponsors, or run our social media page, PCT has a role for everybody and a safe space to learn; all you have to do is put yourself forward and PCT can help you become a better leader.”

How does PCT promote diversity, and how have these efforts made you feel welcome and included?
“PCT demonstrates a commitment to diversity through celebrating diverse holidays and creating a welcoming environment. We hold events like Holi celebrations that allow participants to engage in color throws, learn cultural significance, and share their own traditions. Our brotherhood also recognizes various cultural holidays on social media. These efforts showcase our appreciation for diversity and encourage mutual learning. PCT fosters a sense of belonging that makes me, and others, feel valued and appreciated within our brotherhood.”

“PCT promotes diversity within the fraternity by putting emphasis on the individuality of every member. Whether it be a matter of ones cultural identity, ideological differences, or unique career path, the members of PCT make an effort to fully support each other and commit to learn from each other's differences. This has made me feel welcomed and included in the fraternity because I feel my identity is respected by those around me and I know everyone in the fraternity is open to getting to learn more about each others backgrounds and experiences, which creates a very open environment.”

How does PCT give back to its community?
“PCT’s commitment to philanthropy was something that stood out to me from the very beginning. I had the opportunity to be the philanthropy director for my pledge class and absolutely loved it! From making cards for the Riley’s Children’s Hospital, volunteering at the Hilltop Gardens, and raising money for the Middle Way House, we were not only able to bond but we were able to help the community around us. PCT truly encourages and makes it easy for you to make an impact by bridging brotherhood and philanthropy!”

“From the beginning of your time in the organization, you are encouraged to fundraise and volunteer your time to others in our community. PCT has adopted a road, organized cleanups, and volunteered actives to charitable causes across Bloomington. Yet, the most important aspect of giving back is improving the well-being of your community and surroundings. Through genuine support of mental health and advocacy of personal & academic growth, PCT elevates our community externally and within.”
